Costa del Sol for a ‘gay’ night out!

Whether you’re gay or simply enjoy the ambience and entertainment associated with bars and clubs aimed primarily at those that are, the Costa del Sol can offer a great night out during your holiday.

In the heart of Malaga city is REINAS, which translates as queens, with risqué performance entertainment and a crowd that attracts artists and celebrities along with the general public. Located on Molina Larios and open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday throughout the year from 23.00 until 4am.

For a drink beforehand, try the art-deco style Bar La Calle de Bruselas on Plaza de la Merced, an attractive meeting place and close to Malaga’s theatres and shopping streets. Open throughout the day from breakfast through to the early hours, the bar serves food and features live entertainment and free Wi-Fi.

The black façade of Rosanegra can be found on Calle Comedias in central Malaga, here the focus is on fun and a wide variety of sounds from the past to current day, with the same days/opening times as Reinas.

Malaga is an outstanding city with many restaurants, bars, museums, galleries and interesting sights. It warrants a place on every holidaymaker’s itinerary – every visit; even local residents are constantly surprised as new places open and newly renovated buildings display their hitherto hidden splendour.

Outside of the provincial capital, the Costa’s famous tourist hotspot of Torremolinos has a long established reputation for a lively gay scene centred around the bars of Blanco Pueblo and La Nogalera areas, where you’ll find an upbeat and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Both Torremolinos and Malaga are easy to reach from CLC World resorts on the Costa del Sol, which lie just outside Fuengirola on the main coastal route. During the day and early evening, buses and trains travel along the coast and are frequent, all licensed taxi cabs have a booklet showing prices to destinations or are metered. As a guide, Malaga airport to Fuengirola (26km)fares are approx. €30 daytime up to 10pm and €35 after, and on Saturdays and national holidays.
