Every year the small town of Arona in Tenerife celebrates the patron Saint San Antonio Abad with a week-long programme of events and processions.
As with any Spanish fiesta the emphasis is on having fun and Arona does not disappoint, the town parties for the entire week with live entertainment, food and drink.
The important day of the fiesta is where the town announces its new beauty queen and holds a large open air party with live music and dance. In addition, the religious aspect of the fiesta features Mass and a large procession is well attended by locals dressed in traditional Canarian costumes. The procession is followed by a firework display to round off the evening.
The fiesta is an annual event, this year’s celebrations take place between 12 – 17 January and the town of Arona is situated in the south of Tenerife, easily accessible by Club La Costa World guests staying in any of our four Tenerife resorts.
