One thing the travel pundits appear agreed upon is that Britons will still be taking their holidays in 2012, in spite of the belt tightening brought about by the economic squeeze.
Where will they be heading? Long time favourite Spain seems set to continue its popularity, aided by it being the cheapest of the Eurozone destinations in a survey by Post Office Travel Money. Head of Travel Money Sarah Munro called it “a strong contender”.
ABTA’s Travel Trends Report for 2012 identifies Brits as favouring during uncertain economic times those places they already know well – and that includes the Spanish Costas and also Florida, USA, two of Club La Costa World’s key resort locations.
The Report foresees both the budget and luxury end markets performing more strongly as the mid-market is squeezed. However, the British public showed resilience when it came to their holidays in 2011 and the expectation is that this will continue.
ABTA’s chief executive Mark Tanzer said holidaymakers were likely to become more discerning “about where they spend their money and what they get for it”.
Making luxury holidays affordable has been the direction at Club La Costa World throughout the company’s 27-year-history, in 2012 that formula will stand it in good stead with resorts supplying wide ranging facilities and ‘boutique’ hotel style accommodation.
In addition to its resort operations in Spain and the USA, where it trades as CLC Worldwide, Club La Costa World Resorts & Hotels is present in England, Scotland, Austria, Tenerife, Turkey and Australia.
