Christmas festivities began in the Scottish capital at the weekend and the magical programme of events continues for the next six weeks.

The main focal point is Princes Street in the city centre that undergoes a complete transformation into a winter wonderland. Events take place every day with particular emphasis on the period of Thursday to Sunday of each week.
Some of the highlights of this year include live reindeer visits, the Santa Express, various choirs and street performances, live ice sculpting and a Santa Zumbathon.

Take a ride on Edinburgh’s Ferris wheel and marvel at the panoramic views over Scotland’s capital while deciding what to do and see next.
Take part in a treasure hunt and win prizes from the city’s high street retailers, as late night shopping and extended hours in the city centre accommodate shoppers looking for Christmas bargains.
No visit to Edinburgh would be complete without taking time out to sample one of the city’s many eateries. In addition to the many gastro pubs and bistros, the Scottish capital is home to more Michelin starred restaurants than any other place in the UK outside of London.
