Way back in September we received photos from the team at our Alpine Centre in Austria showing us the first snowfall of the year!

Wrong!
Reception Supervisor at the Alpine Centre, Daniela Hohenwarter said that they are still waiting for the snow to arrive, over the last month or so the mornings have been really cold, but by the afternoon the sun is out and the temperatures are still quite warm.
Daniela added: “I think I have seen only five clouds in the last month! This is really strange weather for Austria in November.”
For those of you thinking that no snow will affect the ski season, you could well be right, but due to the position of the Alpine Centre and its close proximity to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, just a 25 min drive away, the pistes are open and as of 24 November it is reported that there is 50cm of snow on the glacier.
Daniela said: “Some ski areas are moving their winter opening to later dates than planned, but fortunately we still have the glacier, so our guests will definitely have the chance to go skiing.”
