Friday’s veg going to the kitchen for the weekend
With its very own organic fruit and vegetable gardens on site, not surprisingly Hustyns’ chefs use lots of home-grown vegetables, herbs and fruit, as well as plenty of local produce.
The organic gardens this year have produced bumper crops of fruit and vegetables for the chefs to use, the combination of only quality ingredients and inspirational talent creates meals as memorable as any you’ll find anywhere else.
Home-made compost

Busy times in the Hustyns potting shed planting broad beans for next year
It is now coming to the time of year where the gardeners at Hustyns are busily planting up, reseeding and preparing the ground for the next round of crops. Part of the process of preparing the ground involves using the home-made compost made at Hustyns from the kitchen and garden waste.
Last week saw a busy time in and around the potting shed, replanting the broad beans ready for next year’s crop and harvesting the pumpkins just in time for Halloween.

Pumpkins just in time for Halloween
Every year during the October half term, Hustyns lays on some Halloween fun for the children including a party and pumpkin carving competitions!
Resort Manager Jamie Alexander was kind enough to compile some pictures and commented that “the late summer experienced in Cornwall this year has completely confused the apple trees in the orchard and they have all started to blossom again”.

“In addition, holly berries have started to appear alongside the blossom offering a unique and somewhat bizarre combination that has never been seen before at Hustyns.”
Food, glorious food Cornwall style!

The restaurant is well known for its Cornish Breakfasts, mouth-watering menu choices and Cornish cream teas in a bistro ambience throughout the day and evening.
