Ephesus is one of the most visited attractions in Turkey

Many people might think that British visitors to Turkey are mostly interested in sun, sea and sand, but research carried out by Mintel on behalf of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office in the UK has revealed that the country’s rich culture and history is proving a big hit.

It showed that after the weather, culture and/or history are the second biggest draw for those who have been to Turkey, or would consider visiting in the future. The research showed that when British visitors to Turkey were asked whether they had visited a museum or historic site during their stay, a staggering 71 per cent had done so.

The most spectacular of Turkey’s many archaeological sites is Ephesus, the best preserved ancient city in Asia Minor, and on the list of things to visit for guests at Club La Costa’s Apollonium Spa and Beach Resort.
