The annual Falmouth Oyster Festival commences this year on October 13 and runs for 4 days until October 16. The festival, now in its 15th year, signals the start of the oyster dredging season and in particular the traditional methods of harvesting using only sail and hand punt.

This year the launch evening of the Falmouth Oyster Festival will see newly crowned MasterChef Tim Anderson co-host a gourmet night of oysters and give foodies a unique opportunity to talk with one of the country’s up and coming food enthusiasts.
A whole range of events will take place during the festival including cookery demonstrations by leading local chefs, live music, competitions, a working boat race plus children’s shell painting and parades.
In addition, the festival marquee will be full to the brim with traditional arts and crafts stalls alongside Cornish food and drink producers promoting their top quality local produce that visitors can enjoy throughout the festival.
Last year was the best ever for the Falmouth Oyster Festival with over 30,000 visitors attending and this year stands to be equally as good.
Guests staying at CLC Worldwide’s Cornwall resorts of Trenython Manor and Hustyns will find Falmouth is an easy drive of around 45mins from Trenython and 60mins from Hustyns. So, to experience a true celebration of Cornish Seafood, head to Falmouth in October to the Falmouth Oyster Festival.
