Club La Costa members and guests staying at our Duchally Country Estate looking for a rich cultural day out can head into nearby Perth and visit some of the finest museums in the local area.
The Perth Museum & Art Gallery provides a fascinating insight into the Perth & Kinross district throughout the ages with a permanent exhibition showing the natural and social history of the area. Changing exhibitions draw from the museums major collections, which span the last 220 years, of fine art, archaeology and human and natural history. The Fergusson Gallery houses the world’s largest collection of work by the celebrated Scottish artist John Duncan Fergusson (1874 – 1961). The gallery is located in the unusual Water Works building dating from 1832 and displays an extensive collection of paintings, drawings and sculptures. The Black Watch Regimental Museum tells the story of the oldest Highland Regiment since it’s inception in 1739 with artefacts, colours, medla and pictures spread out across seven display rooms in the historic Balhousie Castle. More information can be found on the official website here
