Founded and supported by Club La Costa, The Smile Foundation has agreed to make a donation of €20,000 to ‘Nuevo Futuro’, a registered charity based in Tenerife which re-homes children who have been abused by members of their family
There are currently 4 ‘Nuevo Futuro’ homes in Tenerife, 3 of which require urgent attention in a variety of areas. The Smile Foundation donation will enable the 3 homes in question to be fitted with new kitchens and other essential equipment, which will ensure that they are adequately resourced to provide the required levels of accommodation and support.
Club La Costa team to visit homes
Graham Wilding and Miriam Palazon Armas from Club La Costa’s Tenerife resorts both serve on The Smile Foundation’s local committee and will be visiting each of the homes in the coming weeks. Mr Wilding said, “This donation is just the start and, as we continue to work closely with the charity going forward, we will be looking to make further recommendations – and maybe even more donations – to help them with their excellent work with some of the island’s most needy children.”
‘Nuevo Futuro’ not only provides a stable and safe home environment for abused children but also provides physical and psychological therapies to deal with past abuse and, where necessary, they also ensure the children receive the right help to get them back on track academically.
Club La Costa ensures donations count
Founded in 1999 by Club La Costa, The Smile Foundation’s simple objective is to help as many needy people as possible in the local area – financially or materially. Club La Costa covers all associated administration and publicity costs, ensuring that 100% of all donations reach their intended destination and none of the Committee Members receive a salary or reclaim expenses associated with their charitable work. The Smile Foundation is a registered charity, number G92487396.
